After taking over the practice from Dr Terry Potts in 2018, we made a commitment to continue helping the local community in and around Byron.
We are committed to providing our patients with high quality, gentle dental care, in a pleasant and comfortable environment. Our dentists take pride in using the latest technology and methods to develop patient specific solutions and treatment.
We work with our patients to develop affordable treatment plans they are comfortable with, including treatment plan estimates prior to beginning any procedures.

Dr Joshua Boag – Dentist
Josh, long time Northern Rivers local, attended Murwillumbah High School and went on to study at Griffith University on the Gold Coast. First completing a degree in pharmacy, but realised he was more suited to the field of dentistry. Josh completing the five year Dentistry degree including placements in Tweed Hospital, Bathurst Base Hospital, Ballina Hospital, and a two week volunteering project in the remote villages of Nepal.
After completing his degree, Josh moved to Sydney where he received invaluable mentorship and experience from excellent senior dentists in a challenging family dental practice in the western suburbs.
Josh loves the coastal lifestyle, and is a passionate surfer in his spare time, hence he jumped at the opportunity to return home to the North Coast, and has since become the owner of Byron Family Dental Care. When not in the surf, or at work, Josh spends quality time with his young family.
Dr Josh Boag loves his field of expertise and enjoys practicing in all areas of modern dentistry, including wisdom teeth extractions, root canal therapy, implants, and integrating IV sedation. He continues to keep up with modern dental knowledge and technology, most recently completing further studies in implant dentistry.

Dr Steve Ceccato – Dentist
Steve, from Brisbane, attended high school at Marist College Ashgrove, and went on to study Human Movement Studies at QUT. After realising it was not his calling, he entered the dental field. Steve studied Dentistry at Griffith University, where he and Dr Josh met, studying alongside each other as clinic partners.
After completing his degree in Dentistry Steve moved back to Brisbane where he began his career as a Dental Officer in the Australian Army. Steve still works part time in the Army as the Senior Dental Officer. He has an interest in all areas of general dentistry and thrives on providing a fun and relaxed atmosphere in his surgery. Steve is great with kids, having 4 of his own.
